About the client
Lithuanian Sports University is a state higher education institution that prepares specialists in physical education, sport, and wellness. Over the course of its existence, the University has trained about 16,000 coaches in various sports, physical education teachers, physiotherapy and public health specialists, and tourism and sports managers.
LSU has more than 2,000 students and about 130 employees. It comprises 2 faculties, 4 departments, and an “Institute of Sports Science and Innovation”. Many famous people have graduated from this university: several LSU students have won prizes at European and World Championships and the Olympic Games.
INFES work
The renovation of the building on Perkūnas alley will include the installation of rowing tanks and equipment for academic rowing, canoeing, and kayaking. Infes is also responsible for concreting the structures and interior finishing. Additionally, the ventilation, heating, and electrical systems will be upgraded.
Significance of the project
The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of a more physically active society by ensuring that sports facilities are as accessible as possible and adapted for people with different needs. It is expected that the number of people taking up sports will triple after the reconstruction, and interest in water sports will also increase.
Results
Once the works are completed, people of all ages will have better conditions to practice physical activity in the sports facilities of Lithuanian Sports University. Everyone will have access to the rowing tanks as well as cycling and karate halls. Sports facilities will be accessible to people with disabilities and the elderly.
