About the client
The Vilnius County Adomas Mickevičius Public Library was founded in 1950 in the former Zenkovičiai-Tiškevičiai Palace. The library preserves regional and local history documents and universal publications of Vilnius and Alytus counties, provides interlibrary loan and methodological support services, as well as educational, scientific, methodological, and informative events. The library holds more than 408,000 scientific books, fiction books, periodicals, music, films, maps, sheet music, and other publications.

During the project period, the buildings of the Adomas Mickevičius Public Library are to be completely renovated and refurbished.
Significance of the project
Libraries are important for the city as centres of information literacy, spiritual personal development, quality improvement of visitors, and cultural awareness. As a space that has a significant impact on the quality of life of the society, the attractiveness of the Adomas Mickevičius Public Library will increase in the eyes of the visitors – they will be invited to visit the renovated buildings, where they will be able to use educational and scientific services, attend events, use computers, or take part in various training activities.
Results
After the major renovation and refurbishment of the Adomas Mickevičius Public Library buildings, the library will welcome its visitors with a completely renewed, but still antique-looking image. The improved accessibility and quality of cultural services to the public will also be improved.
