About the client
Biržai District Municipality is located in the north of Lithuania, in Panevėžys County, near the border of Latvia, and its centre is Biržai. It consists of 8 elderships. Biržai District was formed in 1950, and in 1995 the Biržai District Municipality was established to replace Biržai District.
There are 20 cultural centres and 35 libraries in the municipality, as well as the Biržai Region, Balys Sruoga, and Borisas Dauguvietis museums. The Biržai District Municipality accounts for around 0.7% of Lithuania’s industrial production.
Visitors are attracted to the district by the Kirkilai Lookout Tower, Biržai Castle Palace, Astravas Manor, various monuments and heritage sites and many other places of interest.
Infes work
The construction of the Biržai Sports and Wellness Complex will include a multifunctional sports hall, suitable for different sports, with 600 seats and telescopic spectator stands. On the ground floor, there are also plans for changing rooms, a medical centre, and a café space.
The second floor of the building will include a coaches’ room, sports equipment storages, martial arts, fitness, and aerobics rooms, a running track with a long jump pit, administrative rooms, VIP and commentators’ boxes and sanitary facilities.
The basement of the building will also undergo changes. These will include technical rooms, sanitary facilities, and a bowling club. Infes work also includes preparation of a detailed design, site landscaping, cadastral surveying, drawings, energy performance certification and other technical documents required for the construction.
Results
The completed project will result in a two-storey 4159.14 m² multi-purpose sports hall and other necessary facilities in Biržai. The project, once implemented, will have a significant impact on the leisure activities of the residents of Biržai by providing a modern and comfortable space for sports activities.
