About the client
The Klaipėda State Seaport Authority was established after the restoration of Lithuania’s independence to manage and coordinate the activities of the Port of Klaipėda. Since 2023, the state-owned company has become a joint stock company.
Klaipėda State Seaport is an ice-free, multi-purpose, deep-water seaport, with around 7,000 ship arrivals a year from 50 different countries. It is home to 14 large stevedoring, repair, and construction companies providing a wide range of services related to maritime business and cargo handling. The port is also the leading container transhipment port in the Baltics, with an annual capacity of 70 million tonnes.
INFES work
Infes is overseeing the construction of a spacious and modern warehouse building on Marių Street, with a focus on sustainability criteria. The premises will be designed to accommodate special equipment for harbor maintenance, pollution control, hydrographs, etc.
Significance of the project
The Authority has been facing a shortage of storage space for some time, resulting in the need to store some equipment outside. To further develop the only ice-free port in the Baltic region and ensure smooth operational processes, the construction of storage facilities is an inevitable step.
Results
After the construction works, the Klaipėda State Seaport Authority will have a new building, contributing to the modernization of the infrastructure, providing better conditions for the company’s activities, and advancing towards greener maritime transport.
