About the client
Vilnius City Municipality Administration ensures effective city management, provides public services to residents, and carries out functions delegated by the state. Divisions within the Administration handle a range of city management functions, including culture, finance, architecture, urban environment, communication, project management, and others. The Administration also conducts public tenders, oversees urban infrastructure, provides social services, and carries out other activities at a municipal level.
Although public preschools have vacancies, there is a shortage of facilities in easily accessible locations for families in Vilnius’s subdistricts. To address this issue, a new preschool will be built on Žemynos St., in the Pašilaičiai District, Vilnius. It will include 14 preschool and pre-primary education groups, accommodating around 280 children.
Infes work
Infes will be responsible for building the preschool and preparing the construction project. The three-storey building will cover an area of 4.37 thousand square meters and meet A++ energy efficiency standards.
The first floor will feature a multipurpose sports and events hall, open to the public after business hours. The building design will also include a separate wing for a pool measuring 95 square meters in width and 0.6 meters in depth, along with changing rooms, showers, and sanitation facilities.
Once the design is coordinated with the building architects, a large art sculpture will be installed, becoming the centerpiece of the preschool.
Results
After the project is completed, the Pašilaičiai district will have a modern preschool that meets the needs of today’s early childhood education infrastructure. Children of various ages will attend the new preschool, which will also be accessible to the public after hours. The building is designed to blend harmoniously with the urban landscape, while the distinctive art sculpture will serve as an engaging element for visitors and staff.
