As one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing municipalities in the country, Klaipėda City Municipality consistently works toward creating an attractive and contemporary residential environment for both its residents and guests. To achieve this, the Municipality invests in developing urban infrastructure and actively supports social and cultural initiatives, as well as projects that serve a growing community.
A notable example of these projects is the transformation of the former Tauralaukis Junior High School building into a modern and functional facility — Tauralaukis Kindergarten.
INFES work
The reconstruction plans include expanding the building into the southern and southeastern areas of the land parcel. This project will involve constructing five buildings interconnected by stairwells. The new structures will accommodate nursery groups, auxiliary and administrative spaces, as well as a kitchen. After the completion, the building’s size will increase more than tenfold, from 201.5 square meters to 2,300 square meters.
The construction will also include a yard, a children’s playground with various pieces of equipment, two parking lots, and pedestrian walkways.
Results
Upon the completion of the tasks, the building, originally constructed in 1967, will be transformed into a contemporary and spacious facility suitable for modern use. The kindergarten will be able to accommodate more preschool-aged children, providing 130 additional spots for the young residents of Klaipėda.
