Kupiškis District Municipality Administration is situated in Northeastern Lithuania. This administrative-territorial unit comprises six subdistricts, with Kupiškis City serving as the administrative center. Nestled on the shores of one of the largest Lithuanian lagoons, Kupiškis often surprises first-time visitors with its entertainment options and tourist attractions. Its convenient geographical location creates ideal conditions for the development of various economic activities and tourism. Travelers are drawn to this part of Lithuania by the district’s breathtaking scenery and its rich manor legacy.
The phase 2 construction works of the Kupiškis Wellness and Sports Complex are implemented at K. Šimonio St. 1A, Kupiškis. Upon the completion of phase 1, the Complex already has a fully functional pool and a SPA center.
Infes work
The complex is being further developed as part of phase 2 construction. A multi-purpose sports hall is currently under construction, designed to accommodate a range of sports, including basketball, football, handball, badminton, gymnastics, and table tennis. The versatile space will be able to host up to three sports teams and approximately 300 spectators at a time.
Additional facilities will include a martial arts hall, rooms for classes and training sessions, and dedicated areas for equipment storage and coaching staff.
The new section of the sports center will also connect seamlessly to the existing pool complex, with the two buildings linked by a corridor and an accessible passageway. The outdoor areas will also be tailored to visitors’ needs, with the addition of a parking lot, accessibility infrastructure, and outdoor lighting to create a welcoming atmosphere in the evenings.
Results
Once phase 2 construction is complete, Kupiškis will be home to a modern Wellness and Sports Complex. Visitors will be able to enjoy various wellness services and easily move between the pool and sports areas. A versatile sports hall will also host a wide variety of events, enriching visitors’ leisure experience and helping to establish Kupiškis as a key tourism destination in the region.
