Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) is an innovative Lithuanian university that provides education for future highly qualified specialists. The University is a leader in the technology sciences, and its study programs are aligned with the needs of the current labor market. Most study programs focus on the technology sciences, with the remainder covering physical, social sciences, humanities, and arts.
VILNIUS TECH manages the residential building (dormitory) located at Saulėtekio al. 19, Vilnius. The building’s outdated infrastructure no longer ensures comfortable living conditions for students, necessitating major repairs. The work project will also be prepared in the BIM environment.
Infes work
Infes implements major repairs and modernization of a 12-storey dormitory. To ensure the daily comfort of the residents, the facades and roofs will be insulated, while windows, doors, and elevators will be replaced. The interior layout will be modified to create more comfortable spaces within the building. In addition, the modernization will extend to all engineering systems, including heating, ventilation, water supply, wastewater disposal, electricity, fire safety, and security.
Upon the completion of these tasks, the living area will expand to 4508.47 m2. Moreover, once modernized, the building will be suitable for residents with disabilities. After the major repairs of the dormitory, the surrounding area will be landscaped.
Results
Following the major repairs and modernization, the dormitory will become a contemporary, cosy, warm, and comfortable living space for University’s students. People with disabilities will also be able to use the living spaces without any restrictions, while the newly landscaped surroundings will harmoniously blend with the urban fabric of the district.
