Mažeikiai District Municipality is a dynamic and constantly growing institution dedicated to developing and modernizing city and district infrastructure. Located in Telšiai Region, 10 km from the Latvian border, Mažeikiai City is the district’s administrative center. The Municipality actively carries out a range of projects to improve the residents’ quality of life and foster a modern and appealing environment.
The Municipality also undertakes major sports, culture, education, and social services projects, including initiatives to develop infrastructure that enhances the community’s welfare and the region’s appeal. Among these projects is a modern sports and entertainment center in Mažeikiai that showcases distinguished architecture. This multifunctional complex will feature versatile spaces designed to accommodate both athletic and cultural events.
Infes work
The project’s focus is a modern sports and entertainment center in Mažeikiai covering over 10,000 square meters. Based on the architectural concept “Kalva” (Hill), the complex will be a two-story building with a basement.
The first floor will feature the main multipurpose events hall, capable of accommodating over 1540 spectators. A nearby pool area with a SPA center will be suitable both for professional athletes and recreational visitors. Auxiliary facilities for customer service during events — a lobby, sanitation facilities, and commercial spaces — will surround the main hall.
The second floor is designed for various sports facilities, including rooms for aerobics, wrestling and running practices, dance lessons, and a gym. A weightlifting zone will be created adjacent to this area. The building will also have administrative offices, a conference hall, and two VIP zones. A balcony will offer a clear view of the training activities taking place on the first floor.
All necessary engineering solutions will be applied throughout the project to ensure the building’s durability, high energy efficiency, and comfortable conditions for all users.
Results
Upon completing the project, Mažeikiai City will gain a significant public facility that will encourage a more active lifestyle, strengthen community ties, and enrich cultural life. The contemporary architecture and functionality of the complex will integrate seamlessly into the urban landscape, further enhancing the image of Mažeikiai as a modern and attractive region.
