About the client

The Kaunas City Municipality Administration oversees the development of one of Lithuania’s largest cities, ensuring high-quality public services and investing in infrastructure that enhances residents’ quality of life. Known for its vibrant cultural, academic, and sporting scene, Kaunas has made significant investments in recent years to modernise and expand its sports and recreational facilities.

The new indoor football and rugby arena, currently under construction at 105A Europos Avenue, is the latest addition to the city’s growing sports infrastructure. Designed to serve both football and rugby communities, the facility will provide a modern, year-round venue for training, competitions, and community activities.

Infes work

Infes is responsible for the construction of the new indoor football and rugby arena, as well as the demolition of the existing buildings on the site.

Designed to meet A++ energy efficiency standards, the three-storey sports facility with a basement will offer nearly 16,900 sq m of total floor area and rise to a height of 28 metres. At its heart will be a full-size football and rugby pitch with artificial turf engineered for intensive year-round use, complemented by seating for 1,000 spectators.

The complex will also feature dedicated facilities for athletes, referees, medical and anti-doping personnel, administrative offices, community spaces, and a café overlooking the pitch. The surrounding site will include 158 car parking spaces, parking for four buses, 22 bicycle spaces, pedestrian and cycle paths, and modern engineering infrastructure.

Results

Once completed, the new indoor football and rugby arena will become one of the most advanced sports facilities of its kind in Lithuania. Designed for year-round use, the complex will host elite football and rugby training sessions, official competitions, and international sporting events. The project will support the long-term development of football and rugby in Lithuania while creating better opportunities for the next generation of athletes to train and compete.
